Most people associate grief with bereavement; sooner or later we are all likely to lose someone close to us.  As well as grieving at the death of a loved one, we also grieve for other losses in our lives.  When we lose anything meaningful in our lives, we are plunged into grief.

Even though we all grieve at some point in our lives, we don’t discuss it very much and we often don’t know how to cope with it.  If you are grieving, you will have your own personal experience but people feel a mixture of emotions at different stages.  These include shock, numbness, denial, anger, yearning, guilt, depression, restlessness, a feeling that life is pointless.

Sometimes grief can be overwhelming and sometimes it simmers away in the background.  Whatever your own experience, and whatever or whoever you are grieving for, we can help and support you through it.  Depending on your own situation it may be that a few sessions close together will help at a critical moment, or it may be that less frequent sessions over time will work best for you.
